Ferrari 812 Superfast Guitar

The design for this beast, started off with an arial shot of the car on the computer, then I manually had to draw all the contour lines of the body.
Then the lines had to be very carefully bead rolled front then back then front....
Removing any stress with the English wheel
After shaping the wheel bulges on the bonet, I put a small radiused edge around the perimeter.
Here you can see the body outline and all the body contours.
Exactly scaled off the car
Bead rolling the side profile

Shaping the Wheel bulges
CNC machining a 20mm thick piece of Aluminium into the back window frame on the engraver took nearly 20 hours...
Black acrylic back window engraved, this will be the access into the guitar for wiring
Bead rolled the back to match the pattern on the seat
So after all that bead rolling, top and bottom, the only welding is where the side connects to the top and bottom edges. The whole body has been shaped and formed by hand and the use of the electric bead roller.
The Paint by our friends at Southern Custom and Classics is insane. Under different lighting this Ferrari blue changes from metalic blue, to a dark purple even a dark navy. I am very proud of this guitar, it is indeed another prototype, as it is another exclusive first. Over 150 hours of design, testing the design, hand crafting, cnc machining, preperation and painting has gone into this build, and is just almost touching double figures in cost to build.

A final touch was to CNC a Ferrari badge for the back
More pictures soon.. of the Car and Guitar together..
